(Sadly non-H)
Do you love Settlers of Catan? Do you love Star Trek? Well have the best of both with Star Trek Catan. Right now it’s a four player game but I hope they develop expansions for it. This picture was taken after I had won the game. Great fun!
I can not overstate how great this game is. I was skeptical, but it’s way way way more than Catan in cosplay. If you like Catan, you’re going to love Star Trek Catan. You don’t even have to like Star Trek, but it helps.
WHAAAAT I have to get this

OMG SHOOTING YOUR GIRLFRIEND SO A BEAR BRUTALLY KILLS HER
IT’S SO FUNNY
SO FUNNY AND WITTY
VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN IS THE FUNNIEST EVERYBODY
No, violence against men is the funniest. How many times have you personally seen men kicked in the balls on TV? People usually cringe and laugh, thinking nothing of it. How many sitcoms have you seen where a bumbling father-figure falls off a ladder, or hits their thumb with a hammer? Why is it acceptable then, but not here?
The joke has more to do with people’s expectations of a tiny pistol. Maybe you’ve never been around a lot of weapons, but this gun pictured is easily recognized by most to be very small (and the gun mentioned by name in the joke) and unlikely to do much damage to a bear. Bears protecting their cubs (like the joke mentions) are known to be ferocious when enraged and when you shoot one (if it doesn’t die) it will be largely unfazed by something with so little power. People bring large bore weaponry when they want to take down such a large animal.
The result is a joke about misdirected violence. Would have been just as funny if you replaced pronouns so that the girl was shooting the guy. I’m just a bit upset that you’d forsake the opportunity to deplore all violence as humor when you instead chose to make this exclusively about women. How are men supposed to agree with your views when you suggest their plights have no value?
I didn’t talk about violence against men because this post has nothing to do with violence against men. I’m a bit upset that you’ve decided to derail this conversation by demanding that I talk about something that has nothing to do with this image.
The point is, this joke wasn’t about a man shooting another man. It was about a man shooting his intimate partner who is a woman. Women make up 90% of heterosexual intimate partner violence. Murder by an intimate partner is the number one cause of death of pregnant women in the US. So if you want to talk about violence about men, find a comparable screenshot, stop boo-hooing and demanding attention be drawn away from this incredibly important issue. Honestly, you should be ashamed of yourself.

*$9 because the texture abuse raises the price by two dollars.
Wouldn’t you rather spend your money on art that you’d like to look at?

if this picture took less than an hour to draw, $7 is about the bare minimum level of reasonable compensation. if it took the artist any longer than that, they are being underpaid for the amount of time they spent.
why are people constantly fucking bitching and crying about artists getting paid “too much” for their skilled labor, while nobody ever pitches a fit about the fact you can make $8.81 an hour standing in front of a door and saying hello to people
do people even have any concept of how little minimum wage actually is? even a full time minimum wage job is going to get you 1200-1500 dollars a month tops, and most positions that hire at minimum wage are going to be part time to avoid having to actually give you any benefits like health insurance (and freelance artists still have to pay for their own health insurance even when they’re working well over 40 hours a week, which is exorbitantly fucking expensive to buy individually). go look at craigslist for the prices of renting apartments in your area and see how comfortable a life you’ll have working 8 dollars an hour when you factor in the prices of food, transportation, taxes, the out-of-pocket medical bills you’ll have to pay, clothes, etc.. even if you cram yourself into apartment with a billion other people it can be hard
nobody ever argues that walmart greeters don’t deserve to make the bare minimum living wage for the work that they do because for some reason people believe training an ability for your whole fucking life and then spending countless hours creating individualized pieces to the specification of your commissioners is easier and of less value to society than saying hello to people who walk into a walmart
it’s fucking ILLEGAL to pay a walmart greeter 7 dollars for an hour of work, and yet people will sneer at an artist who doesn’t want to work at a $2/hr wage
i don’t care if an artist is hawking terrible weeaboo pictures of his fucking shitty naruto OCs rubbing their massive inflated lactating jugs all over each other, he is entitled to set his price at the minimum wage. you don’t have to buy art that you don’t like, but getting indignant over an artist expecting the most basic grade of compensation for the time spent makes you the worst kind of garbage shit trash
I get so pissed when people say shit about art being “too expensive” especially my sketch commissions at conventions, which usually take me between 1-2 hours range between 12-25 bucks. When people say it’s too expensive it erks me! Commissions are “custom” artwork be it a piece of music, a sculpture, a picture or whatever. You are paying someone to create something original from scratch for them, it’s gunna take time and money! If you don’t like the art then fine, just walk away, but don’t belittle an artists work saying it’s “too expensive” when it’s alreay underpriced!
For the next time someone asks for a sketch and whines about my asking price.
